((I had a really bad quality picture for today, so I decided to posterize it and play with some picnik.com features since I couldn't mess it up any worse.))

Today was kind of a big day. Josh's great-aunt Catherine (Caki) passed away this morning. It was expected and we had all said our good-byes to her. It was odd to me, though, because she wanted to die alone. There's certainly nothing wrong with it, and it could be because she was single her entire life (never married, no children) that she wanted the peace by herself. Who knows... it was her choice to make, so that was the final word.

She was an awesome lady, though. She loved God and loved children. She was more like a grandmother to Josh, and at our wedding, was treated as such.

Even though we expected it, death is so... final. It's like we thought she'd always be there. But now she's not-- just a shell of a body.

Because I didn't want to take a picture of a grieving family, I took a picture of this enormous dog that lives next door, with my adorable hubby who used to be very afraid of this dog. The picture really doesn't do him justice... this dog is BIG! He's a total sweetie, though.
